AN ORDINANCE TO DESIGNATE ACCOUNTING/AUDITING SERVICES AS
PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AND EXEMPT FROM THE REQUIREMENTS
OF COMPETITIVE BIDDING.
WHEREAS, A.C.A. § 19-11-801 exempts professional services from the requirements of
competitive bidding and defines professional services to include legal, architectural, engineering, land
surveying, and such other consulting services as the political subdivision shall designate by two-thirds vote
of its governing body; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to designate accounting/auditing services as professional
services and exempt from the requirements of competitive bidding;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. Accounting/auditing services are hereby designated as professional services under
A.C.A. § 19-11-801 and exempt from the requirements of competitive bidding.
SECTION 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the
extent of any such conflict.
