The follorrir!g report was made by City Engineer Byard and Building Inspector Kietzrnan:
The undersigned Paul R. Byrd and G. G. Kietzman, appointed to ckreck the premises and
recommend adjustment of sevrer service charges, report as follows;
H. P. Howard Trailer Court
Rate computed as of April 1, 1951. - X15.53
This establishr:ient has multiple connections to the sanitary sevrer, and there appears no doubt
that a "major portion" of water used must be handled by the sanitary sewer.kdr. Howard stated
that his vrater use during the base period last vrinter was higher than usual becuase of some
leaks which he fixed. By elimination of these unusual months, his rate works out to ~y14.10.
It is recommended that the rate be corrected to X14.10 per month, retroactive]y to sprit 1, 1951.
Delta Ice Com;~arry
Rate computed as of April 1, 1951. - X10.74
Apparently a major portion of the water used does not go to the Sanitary Sewer System; and it is
reconunended tku3t the accowit be placed on Rate Schedule No. 2 at the miru!num rate of X6.00 per
month.
Pepsi-Cola Bottling Company
Rate computed as of April 1, 1951 - X20.38
Same as Delta lce Company.
Bil-Roy Hotel
Rate computed as of April 1, 1951. Acct. No. 9-46 - 13.54
n n 9-47 - 7.38
_ P~
The meter serving the original hotel building, acct. No. 9-46, gives the sanitary sewer a
large portion of its water; but it also serves the water for waskiing cabs and gravel trucks
of the cab company and the gravel hauling company. there is also a large concrete area outsida
the building as well as some skuubbery. Water is used to clean off the concrete area and water
shrubs, etc. 1t is recommended that an assumption be made that a major portion of the water
through this meter does not reach the sanitary sewer; thud rate schedule PIo. 2 would apply; and
that the rate be set at the minimum of ~y6.00 per month.
The meter serving the crew tourist court buildings obviously feeds a ~'ma~or portion" of the water
through it into the sanitary sewer, although there is some use by the air-conditiorrg unit
(probably not during tkre base period, hovrever) and for scrubbing and outside tivatering. It is
recommended that this rate be computed on Rate Schedule No. 1, and tkrat the rate remain at
x7.38 per month.
