A representative of the Osgood Company was present and discussed
with the Council the purchase of a dragline. Action eves deferred on
the matter.
Mr. A. B. Carter and Mr. C. B. Nance appeared before the Council
for the purpose of discussing the possibility of the City selling or
giving the Community House to the American isgion, or making some
agreement whereby there might be a joint user of said Community House,
The Legion proposed to install suitable heating equipment and make any
necessary repairs on said building for privilege of using same. After
discussion of the matter by various members of the Council it was
thought best that the City retain title to said property, that some
arrangement might be worked out whereby the IE gion would be permitted
to use said Community House at any reasonable time and assist in the
payment of sa id heating plant and any necessary repairs that might be
necessary to be made on said building. The ~4ayor thereon appointed
Curtis Foster, C. H. Brown, and G. Yi. 11',o6uley as a committee represent-
ing the City to work out details for said joint user that they report
their findings and make their recommendations to the City Council at
the February Council Meeting.

balance of the proceeds from the sale of Sewer Revenue Bonds, vahich
balance is now on deposit in Union Flanters National Bank and Trust
Company, Memphis, Tennessee, out of this bank that it be deposited in
the Merchants and Planters Bank and Bank of Yiest Memphis as previously
arranged.
Discussion was had relative to the matter of depository for City
funds and it being pointed out that the Bank of 1'~est Memphis now being
the depository for all of the funds except certain Sewer Revenue Bond
Funds that it would be right and equitable that these funds be divided
between these two banks; thereupon, the following resolution was made
by Alderman Brown: That hereafter the berchants and Planters Bank and
the Bank of Ylest Memphis be and they are hereby designated as depository
for funds belonging to the City of West Memphis, that the balance be
kept as nearly equal as might be desirable or convenient to do so, that
the different accounts or funds be divided by the Treasurer and City
Clerk, and that they be divided in such manner as will most nearly carry
out the interest and purpose of this resolution. This resolution

it is a dead-end street, is not useful to any person or persons, and had
not been used as a street, and a request made that said street be closed
and thereby allowing the lands claimed revert to the original owner.

not be valuable or desirable to the City of 1'~est Memphis or to any
residents thereof, that it is not.now being used nor has it been usod
heretofore by the public or any individual, that said property would be
of no value as a street to the City of Vest Memphis and should ba released
and allowed to revert to the original owner. Thereupon, the following
ordinance was introduced by Alderman Brown:
