ORDINANCE NO. ��
AN ORDINANCE TO AUTHORIZE MEMBERS OF THE CITY
COUNCIL TO PURCHASE SERVICES FROM CHARMAINE TAYLOR
D/B/A EMERALD HIGHCLASS TECHNOLOGY,AND FOR OTHER•
PURPOSES.
WHEREAS,A.C.A. § 14-42-107 states that in order for Members of the City
Council or any elected official to conduct business with the City,that it is necessary that
an Ordinance be passed by the Governing Body, specifically,permitting Members of the
City Council or any elected official to conduct business with the City and prescribing the
extent of such authority; and
WHEREAS,the City of West Memphis desires to utilize the services of
Charmaine Taylor doing business as Emerald HighClass Technology to provide
technology services for the City of West Memphis; and
WHEREAS, Charmaine Taylor is currently employed by the West Memphis
Police Department and, as such, has a"direct or indirect" interest in the profits of such
hiring, thereby requiring prior approval of such hiring by the City Council of the City of
West Memphis;
NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS,ARKANSAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. That authorization be given for the City of West Memphis,
Arkansas to be furnished services by Charmaine Taylor doing business as Emerald
HighClass Technology.
