AN ORDINANCE TO WAIVE COMPETITIVE BIDDING FOR UNIFORM AND
LAUNDRY SERVICE TO BE PROVIDED BY UNIFORM MASTERS, AND FOR
OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, Arkansas Code Annotated Section 14-58-303 allows
waiving of competitive bidding in exceptional situations where such
procedure is deemed not feasible or practical; and
WHEREAS, there are many items necessary for the City's use
where competitive bidding is deemed not feasible or practical; and
WHEREAS, the City of West Memphis is in need of providing
uniform and laundry service in order to provide proper appearance
and identification for employees of certain departments; and it
would not be feasible or practical to require competitive bidding
for such services under the present circumstances;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS:
1. That competitive bidding be waived for the following item
to be used by the City, described as follows:
~ Uniform and laundry services to be provided by Uniform
~ Masters.

AN ORDINANCE TO REZONE A 17.2 ACRE TRACT OF LAND BEING
ALL OF BLOCK 18 LESS AND EXCEPT LOTS 1 THRU 16 OF HOLIDAY
GARDENS SUBDIVISION IN THE CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS,
CRITTENDEN COUNTY, ARKANSAS TO C-2, OPEN DISPLAY
COMMERCIAL DISTRICT.
WHEREAS, application was made to the City Planning
Commission to rezone the hereinafter described property, and
after notice having been published for the time and in the
manner as provided by Ordinance No. 715, as amended, the
matter was heard by the City Planning Commission, and the
Planning Commission recommended that the application be
approved and the City Council finds that such application
should be granted; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST
MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS:
SECTION I: That the following described property located
in the City of West Memphis, Crittenden County, Arkansas, to
wit.
A 17.2-acre tract of land being all of Block 18 less and
' except Lots 1 thru 16 of Holiday Gardens Subdivision in
the City of West Memphis, Arkansas, as shown by plat
recorded in Plat Book 2 at pages 197 and 198 in the
office of the Recorder of Crittenden County, Arkansas,
and lying in the W 1/2 W 1/2 of Section 8, Township 6
North, Range 9 East with a physical address of 1701 East
Service Road.
be, and the same is hereby rezoned as C-2, Open Display
Commercial District.

SECTION II: That all ordinances or parts of ordinances
in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
