AN ORDINANCE TO WAIVE COMPETITIVE BIDDING ON THE PURCHASE OF
REAL ESTATE
WHEREAS, Arkansas Code Annotated Section 14-58-303 allows
waiving of competitive bidding in exceptional situations where
such procedure is deemed not feasible or practical; and
WHEREAS, the West Memphis Utility Commission requires
real estate to construct an electrical substation on and the real
estate needed is presently owned by John Wilson and Mary Wilson;
and
WHEREAS, it would not be financially feasible or practical
to conduct competitive bidding for the purchase of real estate;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS:
1. That competitive bidding be waived for the purchase of
Lot 23 and the West 58.75 feet of Lot 30 of M. P. Horsley
Subdivision in the City of West Memphis for $25,000.00 plus
closing costs.
