Gn the 5th day of May, 1960, the Council of the City of West Memphis, Arkansas,
met in the City Hall in said City in a regular session. The meeting was called to
order at 3:00 P, M, by the Mayor, and on the roll call the following members of the
Council were found to be present:
Aldermen: B. J. David, L, E, `~oleson, C. H. Rowton, and G. I. Bollinger;
and City Attorney W, H. Dillahunty,
Absent: Aldermen: R. C, Bowie, Bob Eden, R, H, Ray, Jr., and Y. G. Sims.
It being determined a quorum was present, the following proceedings were had to-wit:
Minutes of Council Meeting on April 21st were approved as read.
Mayor Price presented the following letter to the Council:

Dear Mr. Price:
I take pleasure in making a preliminary announcement of the propulation of
West Memphis, Arkansas. The census count to date, taken as of April 1 is
19,225,
This figure is believed to be substantially correct but is subject to
revision after the returns of non-residents are credited to their proper
locality and other routine checks have been made. Although a significant
revision is unlikely, minor revision may possibly occur after careful
examination of the returns. The official announcement of population will
be made at a later date by the Director of the Bureau of the Census.

There being no further business to come before the meeting, Alderman Bollinger
moved the meeting adjourn, which motion was duly seconded by Alderman David, and the
following vote was recorded:
Ayes: Aldermen: David, Role son, Rowton, Bollinger.
Nays: None,
The Mayor declared the meeting adjourned.
