MINUTES OF AN ADJOURNED MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF TffE CITY OF (PEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS,

The City Council of the City of iVest Memphis, Arkansas; met in regular session in the
City of West Memphis at 3:00 o`clock P, M, on the 21st day of March, 1961, The following
were present: Aldermen: C, H, Rowton, O, I, Bollinger, R, E, Eden, Earl Felts, and
L, E, Roleson; and City Attorney W. H, Dillahunty,
Absent: Aldermen: Y, G. Sims, R, C. Bowie, and J, F, Lackey.
It being determined a quorum was present, the following proceedings were had to-wit:
Mayor Price announced Mr, Erling Helland of Erling Helland Associates, Consulting
Planners, was present to discuss Preliminary Zoning Ordinance and Comprehensive Plan of
the iPest 6lemphis Metropolitan Area. Members of the Planning Commission, Utility
Commission, School Board, County Planning Board, and other interested citizens and
property owners were present.
Mr. Helland gave a detailed explanation of the 125 page zoning ordinance, and
numerous questions oa various sections of the ordinance were discussed by those present.
Mr. Helland brought to the Council's attention the Comprehensive Plan is a prepared
statement of policy suggested that the City adopt as a long range policy.
There being no further business, motion was made by Alderman Rowton, seconded by
Alderman Eden to adjourn. Upon vote, the voting was as follows:
iaye: Aldermen: Rowton, Bollinger, Eden, Felts, and Roleson,
Nay: None.
