2098ORDINANCE NO. ~ ©~ g AN ORDINANCE FOR THE ADOPTION OF THE INTERNATIONAL FIRE CODE, 2002 EDITION, VOLUMES I, II, AND III, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. WHEREAS, A.C.A. Section 14-55-207 authorizes the adoption by reference of technical codes, regulations, or standards if three copies of the code, or pertinent parts thereof, and any related documents are filed in the office of the City Clerk for inspection and view by the public prior to the passage of the ordinance; and WHEREAS, the International Fire Code, 2002 Edition, Volumes I, II, and III, has been reviewed by the Fire Commission and recommended for adoption by the City of West Memphis; and WHEREAS, public notice of the proposed adoption of the International Fire Code, 2002 Edition, Volumes I, II, and III, has been given in the manner proscribed by law; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS: SECTION 1. There is adopted by the City of West Memphis, Arkansas ,the International Fire Code, 2002 Edition, Volumes I, II, and III, of which not less than three (3) copies have been and now are filed in the office of the Clerk of the City of West Memphis, for the purpose of providing regulations governing the safeguarding of life and property from fire and explosion hazards arising from the storage, handling and use of hazardous substances, materials and devices, and from conditions hazardous to life or property in the occupancy of buildings and premises in the City of West Memphis; and providing for the issuance of permits for hazardous uses or operations. SECTION 2. Ordinance 1549 of the City of West Memphis, Arkansas, and all other ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. ADOPTED this g day of ~ y LY , 2004.
