AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE HIRING OF FRANK PAIGE FOR CLEAN
UP FOR THE WEST MEMPHIS CIVIC AUDITORIUM, AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, State Statute 14-42-107(b)(1) states:
No alderman, council member, official, or municipal employee shall be interested,
directly or indirectly, in the profits of any contract for furnishing supplies, equipment, or
services to the municipality unless the governing body of the city has enacted an
ordinance specifically permitting aldermen, council members, official, or municipal
employees to conduct business with the city and prescribing the extent of this authority.
and;
WHEREAS, the City of West Memphis desires to utilize the services of Frank Paige for
clean up after special events for the West Memphis Civic Auditorium; and
WHEREAS, Frank Paige is employed by the West Memphis Street Department, thereby
requiring approval by the City Council of the City of West Memphis;
THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The City of West Memphis is hereby authorized to hire Frank Paige for
special events clean up for the West Memphis Civic Auditorium.
