AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE PAYMENT TO SAMUEL FLITCH FOR
INSTALLATION OF SECURITY EQUIPMENT AT THE WEST MEMPHIS
DISTRICT COURT, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, A.C.A. § 14-42-107(b)(1) states:
No alderman, council member, official, or municipal employee shall be interested,
directly or indirectly, in the profits of any contract for furnishing supplies, equipment, or
services to the municipality unless the governing body of the city has enacted an
ordinance specifically permitting aldermen, council members, official, or municipal
employees to conduct business with the city and prescribing the extent of this authority.
and;
WHEREAS, the City of West Memphis has utilized the services of Samuel Futch for the
installation of security equipment at the West Memphis District Court; and
WHEREAS, Samuel Futch is employed by the West Memphis Police Department,
thereby requiring approval by the City Council of the City of West Memphis;
THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The City of West Memphis is hereby authorized to pay Samuel Futch the
sum of $282.00 for the installation of security equipment at the West Memphis District Court.
