MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CZTY OF
WEST MEMPHIS , ARKANSAS , HELD ON THE 29TH L1AY OF JUNE , 19 72 .
On this the 29th day of June,~,1972, at 5:00 p.m., the City Council
of the City of West Memphis, Arkansas, convened in a Special Called
Session, at the regular meetifig place in the City Hall of said City,
with the following members thereof, to-wit:
Tilden Rodgers, Mayor
R. E. Wallin, City Attorney, and Aldermen: C. D. Hutcherson,
Robert L. Smith, R. T . Bentley, W. R. Dabbs, Thomas Dickerson,
D. M. Grimsley, W. L. Harris, James Hightower, Pritchard Horton
l being present, with the following absent: Alderman M. P. Scott,
who had signed Waiver Of Notice of meeting.
It being determined a quorum was present, the following proceedings
were had to-wit:
Mayor Rodgers announced the Special Session hard been called for the
purpose of considering a Resolution accepting the provisions of Grant
Offer to acquire land, construct extensions to existing aircraft
parking apron; construct connecting taxiways; perform pavement marking
incidental to construction.
Alderman Hutcherson introduced a resolution entitled "Resolution
Accepting The Provisions Of Grant Offer, Project No. 8 -OS-0065-01,
West Memphis Municipal Airport, West Memphis, Arkansas" and made a
motion that it be adopted. The motion was seconded by Alderman Dabbs.
The motion carrying with it the adoption of the resolution, prevailed
by the following vote
Ayes: Aldermen: Hutcherson, Smith, Bentley, Dabbs, Grimsley, Harris,
Dickerson, Hightower, and Horton
Noes: None.
The resolution as adopted is as follows:
RESOLUTION N0. 436
RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE PROVISIONS OF GRANT OFFER, PROJECT NO.
8-05-0065-Oi, WEST MEMPHIS MUNICIPAL AIRPORT, WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS
BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of West Memphis,
Arkansas accept the provisions of the Grant Offer made by the
Federal Aviation Administration, dated June 27, 1972, relating to the
West Memphis Municipal Airport, Project No. 8-05-OOb5-O1, according to
the terms of the Grant Agreement (Grant Offer), which is attached
hereto and which is specifically made a part of, and incorporated with
and into, this Resolution and these Minutes of the City Council of the
City of West Memphis, Arkansas; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor of the City of West Memphis,
Arkansas be, and he is hereby authorized, empowered and directed to
execute the said Agreement and all other instruments relating to this
Project requiring the approval of the City Council of the City of
West Memphis, Arkansas .
