RESOLUTION N0. X72
WHEREAS, The City of West Memphis by and through its Utility Commission has
been absorbing all fuel cost adjustments in its purchase of electric power
from Arkansas Power and Light Company; and,
WHEREAS, The continuing increases in such cost of electrical power by virtue of
fuel adjustment increases from 1~kansas Power and Light Company have placed an
enormous financial burden on the City of West Memphis and its Utility Commission;
and,
WHEREAS, The West Memphis Utility Commission is advised that it alone has
remained as the sole seller of electrical utility service by a City within the
State of Arkansas which. has not passed on electrical fuel cost adjustment
increases to the ultimate consumer as they occur from time to time upon state-
ments from Arkansas Power and Light Company; and,

West Memphis which is its prime obligation; and,
WHEREAS, A continued absorption of said fuel costs by the West Memphis Utility
Commission could place the said Commission in such extreme financial difficulty

increases included in the cost of electrical power from Arkansas Power and
