AN ORDINANCE GRANTING A SPECIAL PERMITTED USE, TO ALLOW A U-HAUL
CENTER FACILITY, AT 2008 EAST NORTH SERVICE RD, WEST MEMPHIS,
ARKANSAS.
WHEREAS, Application was made to the City Planning Commission of West Memphis,
Arkansas to allow a Special Permitted Use of the hereinafter described lands for the use of a U-
Haul Center Facility per Zoning Ordinance No. 1258, as amended, and
WHEREAS, Notice of said hearing has been published for the time and in the manner as
provided by Ordinance No. 1258, as amended. The matter was heard by the City Planning
Commission on January 28, 1998, and upon the matter being heard by the City Planning
Commission and due consideration given thereof the City Planning Commission recommended
that said application be granted provided the following stipulations were agreed upon by the
applicant, to wit:
1. No additional fencing;
2. No servicing of vehicles on lot;
3. Removal of storage structure on West property line;
4. Locate parked trucks/trailers as to not cause site obstruction at corner intersection and
driveways;
5. Outside lighting to be oriented away from the street traffic and neighboring businesses;
6. The maximum number of trucks will be 16; trailers 10; and towing equipment 5.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1: That the following described property, to wit: 2008 East North Service Rd,
West Memphis, Arkansas be granted a Special Permitted Use allowing and permitting the use of
the aforedescribed property for use as a U-Haul Center Facility, allowed thereon in a C-1, General
Business District.
SECTION 11: That all Ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
