WEST MEMPHIS CITY COUNCIL
JANUARY 6, 2000
A regular meeting of the West Memphis City Council was held on Thursday,
January 6, 2000 at 2:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at City Hall, 205 S.
Redding, West Memphis, Arkansas. Mayor William H. Johnson presided.
~ Mayor Johnson called the meeting to order at 2:40 p.m. Reverend McCool Jr.

offered prayer. City Clerk Phillip Para called the roll. Those present were:
Mayor William H. Johnson, City Attorney David Peeples, City Treasurer Frank
Martin, Councilors: Tracy Catt, Dr. C.W. Peeples, Thomas Burroughs, Brian
Reece, and Harold Thomas. Absent: Councilors: Gheric Bruce, Al Felton,
Roberta Jackson, James Pulliaum, and Lorraine Robinson.
Mayor Johnson stated a quorum was not present so they would be unable to
conduct any business today. He said they would go ahead and proceed with the
bid openings but could not award them.
BID OPENINGS
Bids for the Police Department carpet at 626 E. Broadway were opened by
Renita Rash and read by City Attorney Peeples. (See attached)
Bids for the Police Department painting at 626 E. Broadway were opened by

Bids for Public Works Department material supply contracts for 2000 were
opened by Barbara Owens and read by City Attorney Peeples. (See attached)
Bids for Broadway Revitalization (Phase III) were opened by Eddie Brawley,
Engineer and read by City Attorney Peeples. (See attached)
Mayor Johnson called for aSpecial-Called City Council meeting tomorrow,
Friday, January 07, 2000 at 5:00 p.m.
The meeting ended at 2:50 p.m.
