PROJECT DESCRIPTION
BIDS FOR
SEWER SYSTEM EVALUATYON SURVEY -PHASE II
This project consists of the cleaning and TV inspection of 42,000 feet of sewer lines and
smoke testing of 160,000 feet of sewer lines. This project is part of the 5 year Corrective
Action Plan developed in 1998 to eliminate wet weather problems in the sanitary sewer
system, specifically in the areas of the City where customer service problems exist during
heavy rain events. The cleaning and TV inspection is designed to remove roots, grease
and other debris which can cause sewer blockages and backups and reduce flow capacity.
The smoke testing is designed to locate holes and pipeline defects where stormwater can
enter the sewer system. The problems and defects found during this investigation will be
corrected in subsequent rehabilitation projects. This project will focus primarily in the
southeast and east part of the City where utility crews identified chronic sewer problems.
