A RESOLUTION TO APPROPRIATE A PORTION OF THE FUNDS IN
THE PARK BOND FUND FOR A SPLASH PAD AT HORTON PARK, A
SKATEBOARD FACILITY AT GRIMSLEY PARK AND
IMPROVEMENTS TO TILDEN RODGERS PARK, AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the City has funds in the Park Bond Fund which have been reserved to be
applied as matching funds for various park grants, and
WHEREAS, the City of West Memphis has been awarded $100,000.00 for the
restoration of the lake and walking trails and shore line at Tilden Rodgers Park and an additional
$92,000.00 will be needed as matching funds for this project, and
WHEREAS, The City of West Memphis has been awarded $90,500.00 to be allocated to
a splash pad at Horton Park and a skateboard facility at Grimsley Park and an additional
$90,500.00 will be needed as matching funds for these projects, and
WHEREAS, improvements are needed to the roads and parking lots at Tilden Rodgers
Park; and
WHEREAS, an appropriation of the funds necessary for these projects will leave a
balance of approximately $45,500.00 in the Park Bond Fund;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS, THAT an appropriation from the Park Bond
Fund is hereby approved for the following projects:
$92,000.00 Tilden Rodgers Park -lake, walking trails and shore line repair
$90,500.00 Horton Park splash pad and Grimsley Park skateboard facility
$50,000.00 Tilden Rodgers Park -road and parking lot improvements
and the Mayor, City Clerk and City Treasurer are hereby authorized to do all things necessary or
advisable to appropriate these funds and to accomplish these projects.
