RESOLUTION N0. 932
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS:
That the Mayor of the City of West Memphis be
authorized to implement the following information quoted
below:
"This Office has just been informed that
the Economic Development Administration
is contemplating a Public Works Program
for which proposals must be received by
May 1, 1983. These funds will most
likely require a forty per cent (40%)
local match. Street maintenance is an
eligible item and since we have
approximately $125,000 already allocated
for an alphalt program, I would recommend
that we complete~a preapplication and
subsequent applications. using these funds
as match which would give us a total
program of $312,500 for this year.
Due to the short time we have to present
proposals I would recommend that you
authorize me to make such necessary
applications and that you authorize me
_ to engage Mr. Douglas Gray, Street
Superintendent and Mr. Eddie Brawley as
Project Engineer to go ahead and survey
streets and set priorities and gather
other information to be included in the
application with the understanding that
final approval for street priorities will
come from the Street Committee.
The amount of street work if the additional
funds are received would be approximately
six (6) miles vs. two and two/tenths (2.2)
miles as presently allocated."
