RESOLUTION NO. ~,/
WHEREAS, the City of West Memphis has been unfortunate
in receiving some very very heavy rainfall in the past; and,
WHEREAS, flooding conditions in our Cit
y, particularly
in the Westwood Area of West Memphis, have become acute and
a danger to lives and property; and,
WHEREAS, until very recently, very little has been
done to correct this problem; and,
WHEREAS, certain individuals have taken it upon them-
selves to form a Committee to study the flooding in Westwood
Acres; and,
WHEREAS, this Committee did use considerable effort in
formulating a plan which considerably curtailed the overflow
of water in Westwood Acres;
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE WEST MEMPHIS CITY COUNCIL:
That the following persons whose names are indicated
below be commended for their efforts in alleviating the heavy
flow of rainfall in Westwood Acres, West Memphis, Arkansas:
Mr. and Mrs. Gary Gitchell
Mr. and Mrs. Larry E. Stracener
Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Henson
Mr. and Mrs. Joe Griffin
Mr. and Mrs. Billy Dixon
Mr. and Mrs. Jim York
Mr. and Mrs. Joe Burton
Mr. and Mrs. Don Cockrill, and,
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Spencer.
AND, THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of
this Resolution be sent to the persons whose names appear
