RESOLUTION N0. 937
WHEREAS, every community is blessed from time to
time with individuals, few in number, that because of
their integrity, compassion and contribution, stand out
in the hearts and minds of all the citizens; and,
WHEREAS, the City of West Memphis was blessed with
such an individual that God has seen fit to remove from
us in a seemingly untimely fashion; and,
WHEREAS, a community is much improved by remembering
such an individual in a manner as to perpetuate his ideas
and ideals in the subsequent lives lived by each of us; and,
WHEREAS, Trooper Glen Bailey was such an individual
whose life should be remembered and promulgated to serve
as an improvement to our community;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the undersigned
collectively feel that Trooper Glen Bailey should be
remembered and his name perpetuated in our community by
renaming Dover Road and Dover Road Extended to become
Glen Bailey Drive; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the undersigned, petition
the Mayor and City Council of West Memphis to take the
appropriate action on this request as a humble rememberance
of a man that touched the lives of so many;. and,
BE IT STILL FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this
signed Resolution and the requested Ordinance be presented
to the family of Glen Bailey.
