AN ORDINANCE TO REZONE LOTS 19, 20, 21, 22, AND 23, IN
BLOCK 149, OF THE GEORGE T. KENDAL SUBDIVISION IN THE
CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS, AS SHOWN ON PLAT IN PLAT
BOOK 1 PAGES 24 AND 25, TO C-1 OPEN DISPLAY COMMERCIAL
DISTRICT DECLARING AN EMERGENCY, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, application was made to the City Planning Commission
-~, to rezone the hereinafter described property, and after notice
~ having been published for the time and in the manner as provided
by Ordinance 1258 as amended, the matter was heard by the City
Planning Commission, and the Planning Commission recommended that
the application be approved and the City Council finds that such
application should be granted; HOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST
MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS:
SECTION I: That the following described property located in
the City of West Memphis, Crittenden County, Arkansas, to rit:
Lots 19, 20, 21, 22, and 23, Block 149 of the George T.
Kendal Subdivision in the City of West Memphis, Arkansas,
as shown on plat in Plat Book 1 pages 24 and 25.
be, and the same is hereby rezoned as C-2 Open Display Commercial
District.
SECTION II: That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION III: EMERGENCY CLAUSE: It is found and determined
by the City Council that this ordinance is necessary for the owner
of the property to be able to properly utilize such property for
development and other purposes; and this ordinance is necessary
for the growth and expansion of the City of West Memphis, and that
the passage of this ordinance is in the interest of the public
health, peace, safety and welfare of the City of West Memphis and
the inhabitants thereof. Therefore, an emergency is'hereby
