A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING THE WILLINGNESS OF THE CITY
OF WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS TO MATCH FEDERAL AID URBAN
SYSTEM MONIES FOR THE WEST MEMPHIS TRAFFIC SIGNAL
IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the City of West Memphis understands additional Federal-aid Urban
System funds are available for traffic control signalization on city streets at
100% Federal participation; and
WHEREAS, the City has determined that the top Federal-aid Urban project
is the West Memphis Signal Improvement program; and
WHEREAS, the City understands that, when applicable, their matching portion
of this project will be 25% of the total cost of appraisal and acquisition or
right-of-way, relocation services, and adjustment of man-made improvements,
including utilities;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS,
ARKANSAS, THAT:
SECTION I: The City of West Memphis will participate in accordance with its
designated responsibility in this project.
~ SECTION II: The Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute all
appropriate agreements and contracts necessary to expedite the construction of
the improvements on city streets.
SECTION III: The City of West Memphis pledges its full support and hereby
authorizes the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department to inititate
action to construct this project.
