Re: 1 mill tax for the
West Memphis Police Pension Fund
Dear Mr. Smith:
A total of $92,336.88 will be paid to persons already
receiving pension payments from the West Memphis Police
Pension Fund in 1984. Therefore, it is deemed necessary
to request that the 1 mill tax be kept in effect in
order to continue a sound financial base.

RESOLUTION NO.
WHEREAS, the West Memphis Airport Commission, an
Agency of the City of West Memphis, Arkansas, is negotiating
with the United States Department of Justice regarding a
claim for $108,892.4? allegedly owed by the City of West
Memphis, Arkansas; and,
WHEREAS, it is desirable that this claim be settled
in the interest of all parties for the lowest possible
sum; and,
WHEREAS, it is believed that this claim can be
settled for not over $,000.00;
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS:
That the City Council approve the settlement of
this claim and authorize the Mayor and the City Attorney
to take the necessary action to conclude this matter for
