1030RESOLUTION NO. J03~
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of West
Memphis is responsible for all municipal activities;
and ,
WHEREAS, the C ity Council has impowered the
Utility Commission to oversee the operation of
the publicly owned sewer system and treatment
works; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council has received a
recommendation from the Utility Commission to pass
Ordinance No. 1214 to establish an Industrial
Pretreatment Monitoring Program; and,
WHEREAS, this City Council passed Ordinance
No. 1214 on April 18, 1985.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City
Council of the City of West Memphis place itself
on record as supporting the proper implementation
of a pretreatment program approved by the Environmental
Protection Agency to conform to the Clean Water Act
of 1977 and the general pre treatment regulations
by ( 4 0 CFR - Par t 4 03) ; and ,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council,
in reviewing budget requirements from the Utility
Commission, will look favorably. on the pretreatment
program; and,
BE IT STILL FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City
Council willingly considers those necessary amendments
to Ordinance No. 1214 as they are reco~ed by the
Utility Commission.
