AN ORDINANCE TO REZONE LOTS 15 and 16, BLOCK 121 OF THE GEORGE T.
KENDAL SUBDIVISION TO THE CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS, also co'~nmonly known
as 428-430 So. 14th, Declaring an Emergency and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS, a petition was filed with the West Memphis Planning
Commission for the rezoning of lands as provided by Ordinance No.
1258, as amended, of the City of West Memphis; and

WHEREAS, at said meeting on Wednesday, September 29, 1993,
no persons appeared to offer a protest against the rezoning of
said property as requested and the West Planning Commission
recommends to the City Council that said petition be granted:
NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST
MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS:

Section I: That the following described property located
in the City of West Memphis, Crittenden County, Arkansas, ~o wit:
LOTS 15 and 16, BLOCK 121 of the GEORGE 7. KENDAL SUBDIVISION
SUBDIVISIDN TO THE CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS „ (428-430 So. 14th
Street )
be, and the same hereby, rezoned to R2 Low Density Residential
District.
SECTION II: That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION III: EMERGENCY CLAUSE: It is found and determined
by the City Council that this property is in immediate process of
development and the immediate passage of this ordinance is
necessary for the orderly development of said property; and the
passage hereof is necessary for the growth and expansion of West
Memphis, Arkansas, and that the passage hereof is in the interest
of the public health, peace, safety, and welfare of the City of
West Memphis and the inhabitants thereof. Therefore, an emergency
is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall take effect
and be in force immediately upon passage and approval.
