RESOLUTION N0. 682
WHEREAS, Eastern Arkansas has recently been favored with a dele-
gation of Chinese businessmen who contemplate buying soy-
beans and other agricultural products from our state; and,
WHEREAS, the renewing of trade with Chinese people will help the
economic conditions of this state, and especially this
area; and,
WHEREAS, there has been some discussion of forming a Trade Center
in this area to promote commerce with the Republic of
China and other foreign countries; and,
WHEREAS, it is believed that the City of West Memphis is a strategical-
ly located spot, both from land, water; and air for a
Trade Center;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
West Memphis, Arkansas, that:
1. The City of West Memphis be favorably considered for
a Trade Center for foreign exports, and that you use
your efforts to secure a Trade Center for West Memphis.

Alexander.
