WHEREAS, the Memphis, Tennessee, Commercial Appeal,

published in our "Big Sister City" across the Mississippi River,
has recently given our efforts to secure T.V.A. Power for
West Memphis, Arkansas, a big push by Front Page Headlines,
Editorials, and Cartoons; and,
WHEREAS, the assistance of the Commercial Appeal in
this most worthy project is greatly appreciated by the
West Memphis City Council and the citizens of our Town; and,
WHEREAS, it is proper that we let our feelings be made
known to the Memphis, Tennessee, Commercial Appeal for their
help in placing the facts before the public and the work
necessary to have the legislation passed to make T.V.A. a
reality for our City;
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE WEST MEMPHIS CITY COUNCIL;

1. That the West Memphis City Council commend the
Memphis, Tennessee, Commercial Appeal for their publicity in
our continued efforts to secure T.V.A. Power for the City of
West Memphis, Arkansas; and,
THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE WEST MEMPHIS
CITY COUNCIL:
1. That copies of this Resolution be sent to the
Editor of the Commercial Appeal, Mr. Michael Grehl and their
West Memphis, Arkansas, Correspondent, Mr. Peter ~T-u-rnbull.
