WHEREAS, the City of West Memphis, Arkansas, is now
engaged in several worthwhile projects that will benefit our
City; namely, the Vo-Tech School, Port on the Mississippi River,
Act 9 Bond Issue for Taylor Machine Works, Drainage,
Energy Conservation, and many others; and,
WHEREAS, it is of great help to the City of West Memphis,
that the information on these projects be made available
to our citizens in order that our City Council may get the
views of the public to make the proper decisions; and,
WHEREAS, our own home town newspaper, the Eveni~ Times,
has been ready, willing and able to give a helping hand on all
of these projects and present the facts in a fair and unbiased
way that everyone may understand the magnitude of the effects
these projects will have for our City;
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL 0~ THE
~ CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS:

' (1) That the West Memphis City Council is proud of

its local paper, the Evening Times, and wishes to commend the
newspaper for the fair and accurate reporting of the activities
of our City and the West Memphis City Council;
(2) That a copy of this Resolution be sent to:
(a) Mr. Alex Coulter, Publisher, Evening Times;
(b) Mr. Mike Coulter, Editor, Even11i,ng Tines.
