PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, the City Beautiful Commission has for a
number of years devoted much time and energy towards the
beautification of our City; and,
WHEREAS, the City Beautiful Commission desires to
designate some particular flower as an Official Flower
for the City of West Memphis; and,
WHEREAS, the City Beautiful Commission has suggested
that the flower, CREPE MYRTLE, be designated the Official
Flower for the City of West Memphis, Arkansas; and,
WHEREAS, the CREPE MYRTLE enhances the beauty of
surrounding areas and blooms for a long period, grows fast,
and needs little care;
~- THEREFORE, I, Joyce Ferguson, Mayor of the City of
_ ~ West Memphis, Arkansas, do hereby proclaim and designate
the CREPE MYRTLE as the Official Flower for the City of
West Memphis, Arkansas.
