WHEREAS, at approximately 9:x+2 P.M. on the evening
~•- of June 21, 1980, the West Memphis Fire Department was
called to Lehi Community because of an auto accident; and,
WHEREAS, Lieutenant Reed of the West Memphis Fire
Department was set afire as a result of the flames which
burst from the gas tank of an auto involved in the accident;
and,
WHEREAS, the flames which did arise from the spontaneous
combustion did envelop Lieutenant Reed very quickly; and,
WHEREAS, Driver Troy Ross and Hoseman Arburt Robinson
did by quick thinking and action extinguish the fire from
Lieutenant Reed and did thereby prevent him. from receiving
I'" very serious and severe burns; and, did possibly, save the
life of Lieutenant Reed of the West Memphis Fire Department;

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS:
1. That the City Council of the City of West Memphis
is indeed grateful for the quick thinking and action of
Driver Troy Ross and Hoseman Arburt Robinson and wishes to
commend them;
2. That a copy of this Resolution be sent to both
Driver Troy Ross and Hoseman Arburt Robinson of the West Memphis
Fire Department.
