RESOLUTION N0. D ,
WHEREAS, the Courts of the State of Arkansas have
recently held that the Tax Assessor of each County in the
State must assess real and personal property,on its true
market value; and,
WHEREAS, the enforcement of_ this Court Order will
cause considerable hardship on the citizens of our City;
and,
WHEREAS, our State Leaders have drafted a proposal to
maintain the present tax structure as it is now on the books
in the Assessors Offices; and,
WHEREAS, this particular piece of legislation is
designated PROPOSED AMENDMENT N0. 59 and will be on the
ballot in the General Election on November 4, 1980;
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS:
1. That the City Council of the City of West Memphis
fully endorses PROPOSED AMENDMENT N0. 59, and urges the
citizens of our City to support this measure.
