AN ORDINANCE TO REZONE A TRACT OF 1.08 ACRES LOCATED IN
SECTION 6, TOWNSHIP 6 NORTH, RANGE 9 EAST, WEST MEMPHIS
ARKANSAS, DECLARING AN EMERGENCY AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES
WHEREAS, application was made to the City Planning Commission
to rezone the hereinafter described property and after notice having
been published for the time and in the manner as provided by
Ordinance No. 1258 the matter was heard by the City Planning
Commission and no persons appearing to protest the same the Planning
Commission recommended that said application be granted.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WEST MEMPHIS ARKANSAS:
SECTION I: That the following described property, to wit:
That part of the NW 1/4 of Section 6, Township 6 North,
Range 9 East, described as follows: Beginning at a point
600 feet south of the north section line of Section 6 and
30 feet east of the centerline of State Highway 77,
formerly U. S. Highway 61, to the point of beginning,
thence north 89 degrees 29 minutes 15 seconds east a
distance of 199.36 feet to a point, thence south 00
degrees 11 minutes 01 second west a distance of 100.0 feet
to a point, thence south 89 degrees 29 minutes 15 seconds
west a distance of 199.36 feet to a point, thence north 00
degrees 10 minutes 13 seconds east a distance of 100.0
feet to the point of beginning; and
That part of the NW 1/4 NW 1/4 of Section 6, Township 6
North, Range 9 East, described as follows: Beginning at
point 700 feet south of the north line of Section 6, and
30 feet east of the centerline of Old U. S. Highway #61,
now State Highway 477, thence east 200 feet parallel to
the north line of said Section 6, thence south 115.5 feet
parallel- to the centerline of Old U. S. Highway #61,
thence in a southwesterly direction for a distance of
203.0 feet to a point 30 feet east of the centerline of
Old U. S. Highway #61; thence north along a line 30 feet
east of the center line of said highway and parallel
thereto for a distance of 150 feet to the point of
beginning, said properties located at 2501-2551 Missouri
Street extended (Highway 77),
be and the same is hereby rezoned C-1 General Business District.
SECTION II: That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION III; EMERGENCY CLAUSE: It is found and declared by
the City Council that this property is in the process of
development and that this ordinance is necessary for the orderly
growth and expansion of the City of West Memphis and for the
protection of the safety and welfare of the inhabitants of the
City of West Memphis; therefore, an emergency is hereby declared
to exist and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect
