0834RESOLUTION N0.
WHEREAS, there has been an economic hardship cast upon the
citizens of West Memphis, Arkansas, due to the recent raise in the
Utility Rates caused by the increase of power costs furnished to the
City of West Memphis by Arkansas Power & Light Co.; and,
WHEREAS, it is necessary that the City of West Memphis do
everything possible to obtain cheaper rates on electrical power
for the citizens of West Memphis, Arkansas; and,
WHEREAS, the Power Coordination Interchange and Transmission
Agreement states that sixty (60) months notice must be given before
changing the present arrangement whereby West Memphis may seek other
means of power;
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
West Memphis, Arkansas:
That the City Council desires to formally give notice from the
date of this Resolution that additional sources of power will be sought;
and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be served on
