RESOLUTION N0. ~~/
WHEREAS, recent news releases have revealed that
the Honorable Frank White, Governor of the State of Arkansas,
is contemplating requesting an audit of the Arkansas Power
& Light Company; and,
WHEREAS, the current electric bills of the citizens
of West Memphis are causing severe economic hardship on
all residents, businesses and industries; and,
WHEREAS, the citizens and businesses of West Memphis
have no other place to appeal for relief from this severe
economic burden;
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS:
~.4 1. That the City Council recommends that the
4~ Governor of the State of Arkansas, The Honorable Frank White,
pursue diligently the audit of the Arkansas Power & Light
Company in order that some effort may be made for relief
from the extremely high current electric bills in the
City of West Memphis, Arkansas;
2. That a copy of this Resolution be sent to the
Honorable Frank White, Governor of the State of Arkansas.
