RESOLUTION N0. 860
WHEREAS, on Thursday, September 10, 1981, at approximately
~„ 10 A.M., the Plaza Branch of the Bank of West Memphis, Arkansas,
,,, was robbed and several thousand dollars were taken from the bank;
and,
WHEREAS, the West Memphis Police Department, upon being
alerted of this robbery did make chase and apprehended the
robbers within a short time; and, in face, did kill one of the
robbers; and,
WHEREAS, JOHN L. BRACKIN, Investigator, Criminal
Investigation Division, Arkansas State Police, did, while at
the West Memphis Police Station assist the West Memphis Police
in the apprehension of the robbers; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of West Memphis
wishes to commend the West Memphis Police Department for their
alertness and devotion to duty at the risk of their lives and
rehendin the people who robbed the Bank of
dedication in app g
West Memphis; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of West Memphis is
indeed grateful for the assistance JOHN L. BRACKIN did perform
wY~ile aiding the West Memphis Police Department in the
apprehension of the robbers; and,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS:
1. That the City Council wishes to commend the
West Memphis Police Department and John L. Brackin, Investigator,
Criminal Investigation Division, Arkansas State Police, for
their professional approach in the successful apprehension of
''
a dangerous situation.
2. That a copy of this Resolution be sent to the
West Memphis Police Department and John L. Brackin, Investigator,
Criminal Investigation Division, Arkansas State Police.
