0870~~7© RESOLUTION N0. COMMENDATION OF WEST MEMPHIS UTILITY COMMISSION WHEREAS, the City Council passed Ordinance No. 1069, May 21, 1981, creating a New Public Utility Commission consisting of seven (?) members; and, WHEREAS, the seven (7) member Utility Commission has with considerable difficulty taken the reins of the Utility Department and worked long hours in orienting themselves on the problems existing; and, WHEREAS, the West Memphis Utility Department recently stood firm and refused to pay an increase assessed by the Arkansas Power & Light Co.; and, WHEREAS, the West Memphis City Council is proud of the position taken by the West Memphis Utility Commission in refusing to pay the proposed increase; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE WEST MEMPHIS CITY COUNCIL: That the West Memphis Utility Commission be commended for the stand taken in refusing to pay the proposed assessment by Arkansas Power & Light Co.; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That a copy of this Resolution be sent to the Chairman (`. of the West Memphis Utility Commission: - Mr. William H.
