RESOLUTION N0.
WHEREAS, the Mayor of the City of West Memphis, Arkansas,
has presented a letter and audit comments received from the
Legislative Joint Auditing Committee; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of West Memphis,
Arkansas, desires to take the following action on the audit
comments;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS, that the following action has
been taken or will be taken on the audit comments:
Comment No. l: Prenumbered Cash Receipts are being
issued for all items of revenue. Cash
Receipts and Disbursements Journals are
being maintained on all but one fund.
We will have Cash Receipts and Disbursements
Journals established on the remaining
fund within thirty (30) days.
Comment No. 2: We are going to update our General Fixed
Asset records in June and July of 1982.
Comment No. 3: The Police Department will obtain a
Printer's Certificate for all Uniform
Traffic Tickets purchased in the future.
The West Memphis Municipal Court has
requested a review of the Court's
Accounting System as provided for in
Arkansas Statute 22-1108. The City
Council does not have any authority
over the Municipal Court in connection
with the collection of the $5.00 Courts
Costs for operation of the Public
Defender's Office. Comments regarding
the Court Costs should be requested
from the Municipal Judge.
Comment No. 5: We will take competitive bids on all
purchases that exceed $2,000.00 or waive
competitive bidding by Ordinance.
Comment No. 7: We have reviewed Amendment No. 13 to the
Arkansas Constitution and we will comply
with it on all future transactions.
Comment No. 10: The Minutes of the Policemen's Pension
and Relief Fund Board of Trustees will
(. include authorization for all future
. refunds of contributions.
Comment No. ll. We are currently filing a copy of all
insurance policies in the City Clerk's
Office.

Comment No. 12: We will retain all invoices.
Comment No. 13: We will review the Budget to insure that
we do not exceed it again.
Comment No. 14: We will budget all City funds in the
future.
Comment No. 16: We have published a Notice of Availability
for the 1982 Budget and we will publish a
Notice for future Budgets.
Comment No. 18: We will retain all future Cash Receipts.
Comment No. 19: We will update the Fixed Assets records in
June and July, 1982.
Comment No. 20: We will take competitive bids on all future
purchases exceeding $2,000.00 or waive
competitive bidding by Ordinance.
Comment No. 22: We will raise the Cashier's Surety Bond
and discontinue the bookkeeper's handling
of cash .
