RESOLUTION N0.
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS, AMENDING HOUSING
ASSISTANCE PLAN, AND AUTHORIZING FILING OF
AMENDED HOUSING ASSISTANCE PLAN WITH THE
DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT.
WHEREAS, the City of West Memphis, Arkansas, is undertaking a
Small Cities Program with funds available under the provisions of
Title I of the Housing and Community- Development Act of 1974, as
amended; and
WHEREAS, the City Council submitted a Full Application
(No. B-81-DS-05-0002) which was approved by the Department of Housing
and Urban Development on June 29, 1981; and
WHEREAS, the City of West Memphis is desirous of amending its
Housing Assistance Plan in order to increase its goals for assistance
to elderly renter households in both the annual and three-year
goals; and
WHEREAS, the City of West Memphis has conducted two public
hearings to specifically discuss the provisions of the amendment
and seek citizen input regarding the proposed amendment; and
WHEREAS, there has been prepared for the stated purpose an
amendment to the Housing Assistance Plan which is identified as a
printed document entitled, "Amendment No. 1, Housing Assistance Plan,
June 3, 1982", which amended was reviewed at this meeting.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS:
1. That Amendment No. 1, dated June 3, 1982, as identified
above, be and hereby is approved in all respects as an official
revision to the City's Housing Assistance Plan.
2. That the Mayor be and hereby is authorized to submit
Amendment No. 1 and this resolution, assurances, and other forms and
papers as appropriate, to the Department of Housing and Urban
Development in order to effectuate this revision.
3. That all other findings and determinations regarding the
Small Cities Program contained in Resolution No. 836, adopted May 7,
1981, are hereby reaffirmed and made applicable to this resolution
as if same were repeated herein their entirety.
