BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS:
That a tax of one (1) Mill upon the dollar for
Policemen's Pension and Relief Fund be and hereby is
levied upon the assessed value of all real and
personal property within the limits of the City of
West Memphis, Arkansas; and,
That the City Clerk is hereby directed to deliver
a certified copy of this Resolution to the Clerk of the
County Court of Crittenden County for the tax books
for the year, 1982.

Dear Mr. Smith:
This statement is being submitted to you to request that
a Resolution be drawn up and placed on the City Council
Agenda to continue levying the one (1) mill tax on the
assessed value of all real and personal property within
the limits of the City of West Memphis for the Policemen's
Pension and Relief Fund. The West Memphis Police Department
feels that it is necessary that our pension fund obtain
this mi rage due to the amount of monies .being paid out
on retirement and widow's benefits.
Thank you for your cooperation in this as in all matters
of mutual interest.

Dear Mayor Ferguson:
A letter was written to Robert Smith, City Attorney on
July 2, 1.92 requesting that a resolution be drawn up
and placed on the City Council Agenda to continue levy-
ing the one (1) mill tax on the assessed value of all
real'''and perr~.nal property within the limits of the
City of West ,Memphis for the Policemen's Pension and
Relief Fund. This request was made because the pension
is paying out $43,036,32 anrlua1ly in retirement and
widow's benefits. The mi1lage is necessary to keep
our pension sound.
