RESOLUTION NO. 901
AMENDMENT 60
WHEREAS, Amendment 60 which allows the banks and
financial institutions to raise interest rates will be
placed on the November 2, 1982 ballot; and,
WHEREAS, the present rate of interest has caused
money to leave the State of Arkansas, increasing the
economic plight.. of this State; and,
WHEREAS, it is believed that if Amendment 60 passes
there will be an increase in the flow of money whereby
businesses can continue to operate and thereby maintaining
and increasing jobs in the State of Arkansas; and,
WHEREAS, the Governor of the State of Arkansas,
and all high officials have endorsed Amendment 60 to be
in the best interest of the State of Arkansas;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL, OF
THE CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS, that they desire to go
on record as supporting Amendment 60; and, hope the people
of Arkansas will vote for Amendment 60 in the November 2,
1982 election.
