0597 RESOLUTION NO . ,h---1/
WHEREAS , the City of West Memphis , Arkansas , widhes
to request the State of Arkansas to remove all obstructions
such as signs on the right-of-way of U . S . Highway No . 70
(Broadway Street) in West Memphis , Arkansas , and
WHEREAS , the State of Arkansas has jurisdiction for
law enforcement on U . S . Highway No . 70 ( Broadway Street)
in West Memphis , Arkansas , and
WHEREAS , it is the desire of the City of West Memphis
Arkansas to make U . S . Highway 4O . 70 ( Broadway Street ) a
street which will add to the beauty of our City , and
WHEREAS , it is contemplated that considerable work
will be done in the future toward the revitalization of
Broadway Street by the City of West Memphis , Arkansas , with
the:'cooperation of the Arkansas State Highway Department ;
THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS , ARKANSAS :
1 . That the City Council of the City of West Memphis ,
Arkansas recommends that the Arkansas State Highway Department
remove all obstructions and signs on the right-of-way of
Highway No . 70 (Broadway Street ) in West Memphis , Arkansas ,
in the hope that the Arkansas Highway Department will pursue
the matter diligently .
