AN ORDINANCE TO ESTABLISH THE PASSING SCORE REQUIRED ON
EXAMINATIONS FOR HEATING AND AIR CONDITIONING LICENSES,
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY AND OTHER PURPOSES
WHEREAS, the Board of Mechanical Heating and Air
Conditioning Installers has adopted testing procedures for
examination of applicants seeking a license to engage in
the business of heating and air conditioning installation
in the City of West Memphis; and
WHEREAS, it i_s neressary that the passing grade for
such examination be established by ordinance; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Mechanical Heating and Air
Conditioning Installers has recommended that a passing
grade for such examination be considered to be a score of
seventy-five percent (75%) or above;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS:
SECTIC?N 1. No applicant shall be issued a license
to engage in the business of heating and air conditioning
installation without having first scored a grade of seventy-
five percent (75%) or higher on the licensing examination,
administered by the Board of Mechanical Heating and Air
Conditioning Installers, i_znless otherwise exempt from the
examination requirement.
SECTION 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION 3._ EMERGENCY__C;_LAUSE. It having been found and
determined by the City Council of the City of West Memphis,

Arkansas, that an urgent need exists for the establishment
of the testing procedures and requirements for applicants
seeking licenses to engage in the business of heating and
air conditioning installation in West Memphis, Arkansas, an
emergency is hereby declared and the provisions of this
Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after
the date of its passage and approval.. ~^
