0633 RESOLUTION NO. :3
WEST MEMPHIS AIRPORT
WHEREAS , the West Memphis City Council has delegated
the authority to manage and operate the West Memphis Municipal
Airport by Ordinance; and,
1460 WHEREAS , the West Memphis City Council is appreciative
of the untiring efforts the Airport Commissioners have exercised
toward the airport business ; and,
WHEREAS , the conditions of the West Memphis Municipal
Airport have reached a situation where citizen complaints have
been made to the City Council ; and,
WHEREAS , the West Memphis City Council is ready, willing
and able to assist the West Memphis Airport Commissioners ;
THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of West Memphis , Arkansas , that the Airport Commissioners
consider the following alternatives toward development at the
West Memphis Municipal Airport : •
1 . Consider cancelling the Lease with FCRI for failure
to operate a fixed-base operation;
2 . Arrange a meeting with the FCRI and their attorney
to determine whether a reduced amount may be offered to buy up
the FCRI interest in the Lease;
3 . Ask the Budget Committee to allocate funds for payment
of the bonds to become due in the near future;
4. Seek citizen requests as to suggestions as to where
conditions at the airport may be improved.
