0637 RESOLUTION NO . 3 .5
WHEREAS, the City of West Memphis , Arkansas, on July
13, 1978 , suffered one of its worst disasters from water and
wind damages in the history of our city; AND,
WHEREAS, the West Memphis Police Department responded
admirably, to the call for protection and security for the
homes and businesses of our city; AND,
WHEREAS, many policemen who were off duty reported to
duty and offered their assistance in this time of need; AND,
WHEREAS , the loyalty, devotion to duty, and public
pride in our city reflects to a high degree the caliber of the
personnel who comprise our Police Department ;
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS :
1. That the City Council of the City of West Memphis ,
Arkansas, commends the outstanding job performed by the West
Memphis Police Department on July 13, 1978, and are indeed grateful
for the services performed .
2 . A copy of this resolution be sent to the Chief of
Police, Bobby Keen, with instructions to see that all members of
that department receive this message .
