WHEREAS, the City of West Memphis , Arkansas , on July
13 , 1978, suffered one of its worst disasters from water and
60 it-
wind damages in the history of our city; AND,
WHEREAS, the Sanitation Department , after the disaster
struck, worked long hours including holidays , to clean up the
debris , and all the limbs and trees that were involved from
the wind and rain damages ; AND,
WHEREAS, the City of West Memphis are proud of the many
fine people who work for the Sanitation Department , and are
grateful for the services they performed;
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS :
1. That the City Council of the City of West Memphis,
Arkansas , commends the outstanding job performed by the Sanitation
Department on July 13 , 1978 .
2 . A copy of this resolution be sent to Mr . Theodore
Robinson, Department Head of the Sanitation Department , West
Memphis, Arkansas , with instructions to see that all members
of that department receive this message .
