0641 RESOLUTION NO. 641
WHEREAS , the City of West Memphis , Arkansas , on July
13 , 1978 , suffered one of its worse disasters from water and
wind damages in the history of our city; AND,
WHEREAS, the West Memphis Utility Department responded
admirably, to the call when our city was in darkness , and worked
long hours over the regular duty hours to restore lights to our
city; AND,
WHEREAS, the loyalty, devotion to duty, and public
pride in our city reflects to a high degree the caliber of the
personnel who comprise the West Memphis Utility Department;
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE

CITY OF WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS :
1. That the City Council of the City of West Memphis ,
Arkansas , commends the outstanding job performed by the
West Memphis Utility Department on July 13, 1978 , and are indeed
grateful for the services performed .
2 . That a copy of this resolution be sent to Mr . P . G . Para,
Manager of the Utility Department , to see that all members of that
department receive this message .
