0644 RESOLUTION NO. 6,
RESOLUTION APPROVING CITIZEN PARTICIPATION PLAN
WHEREAS , the City of West Memphis is undertaking projects and
activities with Federal financing assistance available through the
Community Development Program under the provisions of Title I of the
Housing and Community Development Act of 1974 as amended ; and
WHEREAS the City Council is cognizant of the responsibilities of
ifte the City for taking steps to provide citizens with an adequate op-
portunity to participate in the planning , implementation and assessment
of the Community Development Program; and
WHEREAS the City has conducted a public hearing to gain citizen
input relative to the nature and content of the Citizen Participation
Plan ; and
WHEREAS based on Federal regulations and the input from citizens
of West Memphis , the City has prepared a Citizen Participation Plan
which is designed to serve as a guideline for citizen involvement and
all aspects of the Community Development Program; and
WHEREAS the Plan was considered at this meeting and found ac-
ceptable for the intended purposes .

NOW, THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WEST MEMPHIS , ARKANSAS :
1 . That the Citizen Participation Plan as identified above be
and hereby is approved as a reflection of the City ' s commitment to
providing full opportunity for citizens to participate in the planning ,
implementation and assessment of the Community Development Block Grant
Program as executed within the City .
2 . That the City Clerk be and hereby is directed to file one
copy of this Plan with this Resolution in the official journal of the
actions of the City Council .
3 . That this Resolution shall take effect immediately.
