0656 RESOLUTION C/
WHEREAS , the EDA and several other governmental agencies
have expressed a desire to help finance a Port for the City of
West Memphis ; and ,
Slot WHEREAS , it will be necessary for the City to finance a
portion of the amount necessary to build the Port ; and ,
WHEREAS , the State Statute authorizes the City of West
Memphis to issue revenue bonds , which will have no obligation
for the City , to finance this Port; and ,
WHEREAS , it is necessary to give the Mayor the authority to
negotiate with bond attorneys in this project ,
THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WEST MEMPHIS :
That the City Council of West Memphis authorize the Mayor
to negotiate with bond attorneys in an endeavor to float revenue
bonds for the construction of a Port in the City of West Memphis .
