RE: $10M 90/10 Grant
The Airport Commission has GREAT news! The Department of Transportation
approved $10,000,000 in federal funding to rehabilitate our runway, with the
caveat that the project must be expedited immediately. I apologize for the
short notice, but we just received notification from Congressman Crawford's
office this afternoon.
The timeline we must work within is very concentrated:
• The Grant Application must be submitted to FAA, SW Region by Thursday
(September 20th).
• The design process will need to be accelerated so that the project can be
bid by January, with a construction start date no later than the 1 st of June.
The project has been identified as a priority in our Capital Improvement Plan for
the past 7 years. This is truly a window of opportunity.

exciting project.
