AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING AND ANNEXING TO THE CITY OF WEST
MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS, THE S 2/3 SE 1/4 SE 1/4 OF SECTION 14,
TOWNSHIP 6 NORTH, RANGE 8 EAST, CONTAINING 26.7 ACRES
WHEREAS, Guaranty Loan & Real Estate Co. has instituted
proceedings in the County Court of Crittenden County, Arkansas, for
the annexation of certain territory to the City of West Memphis,
Arkansas; and
WHEREAS, such territory is contiguous to the City of West
Memphis and it is proper and right and for the best interest of such
city that such territory be annexed; and
WHEREAS, the County Court of Crittenden County, Arkansas, has
entered its order of July 22, 1992, approving the annexation of such
territory as hereinafter described to the City and on September 29,
1992, entered its order confirming such annexation and it is
necessary that the city accept such territory before the annexation
can be completed and the territory hereinafter described become a
part of the City of West Memphis, Arkansas:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS:
SECTION I: That the territory described as follows be, and it
is hereby, accepted as a part of the City of West Memphis, Arkansas,
to wit.
The S 2/3 SE 1/4 SE 1/4 of Section 14, Township 6 North,
Range 8 East, containing 26.7 acres, more or less.
SECTION II: That the territory above described be, and it is
hereby, attached to and incorporated in Ward of the City of

West Memphis, Arkansas, and shall forthwith be considered a part
thereof.

On this day this matter comes on for hearing upon the petition of
Guaranty Loan & Real Estate Co. for the annexation of territory to
the city of West Memphis, Arkansas, and said party appeared by its
attorney, Ralph W. Sloan; and this cause is heard upon the petition
for annexation by the owner of all of the land included herein, the
order of August 24, 1992, granting the annexation, the record herein
and other matters and things before the court, from all of which the
court, being advised in the premises, finds:
That since the order herein on August 24, 1992, granting the
petition for annexation herein and annexing the hereinafter described
territory to the city of West Memphis, Arkansas, more than thirty

days have elapsed and no proceedings have been instituted to prevent
the annexation of such territory, and it is proper that the
annexation herein be finally confirmed.
IT IS THEREFORE BY THE COURT CONSIDERED, ORDERED, ADJUDGED AND
DECREED that the order of this court entered herein on July 22, 1992,
annexing the following described territory to the City of West
Memphis, Arkansas, to wit:

6 North, Range 8 East, containing 26.7 acres,
more or less.
be, and it is hereby, in all things confirmed, and upon acceptance of

said territory by the City of West Memphis, Arkansas, the clerk of
this court shall duly certify one copy of the plat of such annexed
territory, one copy of each order of this court, and one copy of the
ordinance or resolution of the City of West Memphis, and forward same
to the Secretary of State of the State of Arkansas, and shall forward
one copy of the plat of such annexed territory and one copy of each
of said orders of this court to the Director of the Tax Division of
Arkansas, Public Service Commission, and shall forward a certified
copy of the orders of this court to the City Council of the City of
West Memphis, Arkansas, as provided by law.
